Who Writes Our Content

All content is written by Japan Insider — a writer who has lived in Japan since 2015 and uses Japan's transport, accommodation, and services daily. We do not publish AI-generated articles or content from writers who have not visited Japan.

Research Standards

Our content is based on:

• Personal experience — firsthand use of transit systems, hotels, and services described
• Official sources — Japan Tourism Agency, JR East, Tokyo Metro, and relevant government bodies
• Community verification — cross-checking with traveller communities and Japan expat forums
• On-the-ground updates — regular re-testing of practical information (prices, hours, routes)

Update Policy

We review and update our articles on the following schedule:

• Transit and Suica guides: Reviewed quarterly or when major changes occur
• Hotel and accommodation guides: Reviewed twice yearly
• Phrase and culture guides: Reviewed annually
• Emergency or significant changes: Updated within 48 hours of verified reports

All articles display a "last updated" date. This reflects when the content was last materially reviewed, not just formatting changes.

Affiliate Independence

Japan Insider Guide participates in affiliate programs (see our Affiliate Disclosure). Our editorial policy on affiliates:

• We do not accept payment for editorial coverage
• Affiliate relationships do not influence which products or services we recommend

Corrections
