The Namba area is served by five rail lines across three separate station buildings: Osaka Metro Midosuji Line (fastest route to Umeda/Osaka in 7 min, Shin-Osaka Shinkansen connection in 9 min), Osaka Metro Sennichimae Line, Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line, Kintetsu Osaka-Namba Station (for Nara and Nagoya), and Nankai Namba Station (express to Kansai International Airport in 38 min — the most convenient airport connection in Osaka). The Midosuji Line alone makes Namba a strong base: Shin-Osaka (Shinkansen) in 9 min, direct to Kyoto via transfer.
🏮 Local tip from a resident:There are effectively four different 'Namba' stations within a 5-minute walk of each other, operated by different companies. Osaka Metro Namba (subway), Kintetsu Osaka-Namba, Nankai Namba, and JR Namba — all have different platforms and ticketing. For the airport, use Nankai. For the Shinkansen, take Metro to Shin-Osaka. For JR lines, walk to JR Namba (10 min) or Metro to Shin-Osaka.

The location at 4 minutes from Namba Station puts Dotonbori (5 min walk), Kuromon Market (8 min walk), and Shinsekai (15 min by subway) all within easy reach. The breakfast buffet with both Japanese and Western options is a genuine highlight.
Local tip: The tamago gohan (egg on rice) at breakfast is prepared fresh. It sounds simple but this is one of Japan's great comfort foods and the Cross Hotel's version is particularly good — don't skip it for a Western breakfast.
